Help us celebrate Arline Saturdayborn’s generous spirit
Arline Saturdayborn, a long-time teacher, mentor and inspiration to PAE students, staff and the Greater Portland community, passed away on February 7, 2023. After more than 20 years of teaching and her work with sustainable compassion, Arline has left a legacy of goodwill and inspiration in her wake.
Portland Adult Education serves thousands of adult learners every year. PAE’s English, Academic, Workforce, and High School Diploma programs help New Mainers to improve their language and life skills – preparing them for entry-level jobs, re-entering the business world, upgrading skills and transitioning from another country so they can become part of our Greater Portland community.
PAE students cannot participate fully in their education if they cannot get to school. Many cannot afford the bus fare needed. For this reason, we would like to honor Arline’s generous spirit by purchasing METRO bus tickets for PAE students so they can attend classes. This fundraiser will run through April 1, 2023.
